Plan your visit
We’re so glad you’re planning to join us at Travis Avenue Baptist Church. Here is everything you need to know about your first visit to Travis, from the different ministries to all our services.
Travis Avenue Baptist Church seeks to live on Relentless Mission by helping people far from God know Christ through global, domestic, and local impact. Our goal is to equip the membership of Travis Avenue to actively and strategically reach the nations and our neighborhoods with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
While there are many great mission endeavors that we champion for the Kingdom of God, Travis Avenue has chosen to direct our focus and resources in these three areas:
Church Planting Focused
Evangelistically Zealous
Discipleship Driven
WEDNESDAY NIGHT ADULT CLASSES

Rethink how you do family with proven strategies to connect with your kids, win their hearts to Christ, and disciple them into adulthood. The study will be facilitated by Jay and Sheree Gallagher. You may purchase the study guides for $20 a couple at the first session.

A Study of James
Led by Dan Darling, Parlor
This study shows that James is not just about doing good works, but about living out a real, gospel-shaped faith. True faith leads to practical obedience as we surrender to Jesus and let His Spirit work through us in everyday life.
Dan Darling is the Director of the Land Center for Cultural Engagement and an Associate Professor of Faith and Culture at Texas Baptist College.
Ladies Bible Study
Led by Joy Thompson, Room W-115
The first 8 weeks we will study “Anxious” by Scarlet Hiltibidal . There are many reasons to worry and one reason not to. We live in a broken, sad, scary place where there’s plenty to be anxious about. But true peace comes when we learn to hold God’s Word up to what worries us. The study guide will be available at the first session for $15.00
The last 4 weeks we will concentrate on the Advent study based on the beloved Christmas Carol. In this 4-session study, we will spend the weeks of Advent celebrating the good news of great joy.
Joy Thompson is the wife of our Elder, Larry Thompson, and director of the Koinonia small group.
Digging Deeper

Mens Bible Study
Led by Bill Ellis, Room W-106

Come join other Christian men as we learn how to pursue a Christian life while living in a very secular world.
