Travis’ wonderful Senior Adult Choir will lead the congregation in singing many of the old standard hymns and gospel songs on Sunday evening, May 26, at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary.  The hymn singing will be interspersed with music sung by the PraiSingers. You are invited to come and join your voice with many others for an evening of singing your favorite hymns.

 

A Travis Avenue Golf Tournament for men and women is planned for June 8 at Southern Oaks Golf Club (Burleson). Cost is $50 (includes golf cart, lunch and prizes). Deadline to sign up as a team or individually is June 2. Registration starts at 7:00 am. Shot gun start at 8am. To sign up contact Renee Jackson at renee.jackson@travis.org.

The best week of the summer is just around the corner, and we want you to be a part of it! Join hundreds of students just like you at Riverbend from June 18-22 for a week you will not forget. You will experience a life-changing week with an incredible live band, a speaker who answers your questions from God’s Word, hilarious games, unforgettable evening extras, and more. The cost for the week is $215 per person. You can sign up by filling out a registration envelope and getting it back to Travis Avenue Baptist Church Student Ministry Office, or going online by clicking pic above or at  www.travisstudents.org and filling out a registration form. A $50 deposit is required at registration.

Through every twist, turn, and dive, Colossal Coaster World will challenge kids to face their fears and trust God. With excitement around every curve, kids learn that God has given them a spirit of power, love, and sound judgement. This year’s VBS is the ultimate ride. Please prayerfully consider volunteering in VBS this year. Our ever faithful volunteers are truly the reason Vacation Bible School is so successful.   • Although we can accept credit cards at the Kiosk or online, we encourage members to live a debt-free lifestyle.   If you use a credit card, please give only if you have funds to cover your contribution.
  • You also need to know that the church pays a fee to the service that processes credit and debit card transactions. Fees range from 4% (American Express), to 2.5% (Visa and MasterCard), to 1.5% for debit cards. The fee is not paid by the giver, but is charged to the church. Thank you for giving in ways that minimize fees and, thus, maximize your gifts.

Travis’ 100th Anniversary book, 100 Years: A Collection of Stories, may now be purchased at the discounted price of $5 plus shipping (if needed). Contact the church office at 817.924.4266 to purchase your copy and have it shipped or you may come by and pick one up in person. 

Travis has scholarship and internship opportunities for members who are students preparing for full-time Christian ministry. All interested persons are encouraged to get an application from the church office, by email (carol.warren@travis.org), or by downloading from the church website (www.travis.org). Completed applications need to be returned or emailed to the church office by Thursday, May 30. Anyone interested in participating financially in the training and education of our students who are called to ministry may designate their gifts to TABC Scholarship Fund.
