Wes Black

Minister to Legacy and Senior Adultsoffice: (817) 924-4266, Ext. 216

As Minister to Legacy and Senior Adults, Wes oversees all aspects of ministry with empty nesters, adults in the second half of life, and senior adults. Wes and his wife Sandi have been married since 1965 and have two grown children, Clay and his wife Jessica, and Melissa and her husband Keith Daugherty, and one grandchild, Taylor Jones. Prior to his service at Travis Avenue, Wes was Professor of Student Ministry for twenty-nine years at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Hardin-Simmons University, Master of Arts in Christian Education and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Wes joined the staff at Travis Avenue in 2009.
