PLACE Workshop

PLACE provides an opportunity for our church members to discover their ideal place of ministry involvement at Travis Avenue Baptist Church. Our next workshop series will be Sunday, October 26 and November 2, 4:00-6:00 pm in E-100/110 of the South Complex. Candy Collection Day

Please support the Cowtown Texas Roundup (formerly known as the Fall Festival) by bringing a generous donation of candy on Sunday morning, October 19. This year, we want to fill up the slide in the Children's Ministry Center with treats. There will also be candy bins located in the Welcome Center and Sanctuary Foyer. The Cowtown Texas Roundup will be held Friday, October 31 in the CMC.

Join us Friday, October 31 from 6:30-9:30 pm in the Travis Avenue Children's Ministry Center for our Annual Fall Festival, a fun-filled night of carnival games, candy, bounce houses, food and prizes. Families of all ages are invited.

Men's Fraternity

The Quest for Authentic Manhood, a 24-session study that focuses on a man's core identity and gives an overview of basic manhood, is the curriculum for this cycle of Men's Fraternity. The group meets Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm in C-360. Guests and new members are always welcome. Books are available in class.

Ladies' Thursday Bible Study

Ladies, welcome to the Thursday Bible study! We have a new meeting place this year in room B110. Our book of study will be Priscilla Shirer's Can We Talk? This study encourages you to make daily conversations with God a natural part of your daily life. Join us for fellowship in the Word and friendship with one another! Our Ladies' Tuesday Bible Studies are going through Beth Moore's Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent, which explores Psalms 120-134. Join us in gaining a new appreciation for the life of faith as a journey to greater fellowship with and worship of God. One of our greatest privileges as Americans is the right to vote. Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2008. If you are not registered to vote, you may pick up a voter registration form at the kiosk in the Welcome Center. The form should be completed and postmarked by October 6. Be a patriot. Do your duty. Vote!

Absentee Ballot: Must be over 65, disabled, out of town, or college student.To vote absentee, call 817.931.8683 for a ballot application. The deadline for ballot applications is October 28. For ballots to be counted, they must be mailed in and received by Election Day, November 4. Early Voting: From 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, you can vote at any early voting location with a driver's license from October 20 - 31, 2008
