INTRODUCTION

As we prepare to enter a new year there are likely some adjustments that you intend to make to your lifestyle. Or maybe you’re running a little behind. At this time last year you decided you needed to make adjustments in your life about your diet, your spending, or your exercise. INTRODUCTION

Let’s open our Bibles to Isaiah 9:1. As you’re turning I’ll just remind you that our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service is Tuesday at 6pm. It will have a special Cowtown feel to it. Next Sunday we’ll have regular Bible Study at 9:45 and just one service at 11:00am and we will share together in the Lord’s Supper. INTRODUCTION

Tonight we begin our special series of December Nights with our Choir and Orchestra joined by Christian music artists “The Katinas” for a fabulous Christmas concert at 6pm. And the climax of our Christmas celebration is the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6pm. This year we will have a special Cowtown flavor to our beautiful Christmas Eve celebration. All of these events are great opportunities for you to invite friends who need to hear the message of Christmas and the gift of Christ. The last Sunday of the 2013 we’ll meet in one worship service and share together in the Lord’s Supper.

Open your Bibles to Isaiah 9. We’re going to camp here in this passage over the next two Sundays. These OT verses point us to the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Let’s stand as I read Isaiah 9:1-7. (more…)

Come Let Us Adore Him

Thursday, December 12th, 2013

One of the great defenses we have against the holiday pressures is our worship of Jesus. In worshipping Christ at Christmas we push back against the materialistic and cultural Grinches that attempt to steal the true celebration of the Advent. We must hear and heed the invitation of the carol: “O come all ye faithful … O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.” (more…)
